Marianne Mclendon Goodroe

Marianne “Gigi” McLendon Goodroe, 93, of Columbus passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marianne was born on October 28, 1929 in Lee County, GA and grew up in Bronwood, GA. She graduated from Valdosta State University and began a teaching career in Pelham, GA before moving to Columbus in 1953. She taught at Columbus Jr High and Arnold Jr High. She deeply loved her grandchildren, NASCAR, and her many pets throughout the years. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, 5 brothers, and husband Joel Goodroe.

She is survived by her 3 children (Greg Goodroe Davis (JD), Dana Goodroe Snider (Earl), and John Goodroe), 7 grandsons (Alan Goodroe (Kelly), Greg Snider (Laura), Lendon Wall, Jared Wall (Lauren-Leigh), Corey Wall, Joel Snider (Payton) and Dillard Snider), and 6 great-grandchildren.
