Maria Virginia Stokes

Maria Virginia Stokes, 70, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, October 20, 2023, surrounded by family.

A visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Maria was born July 9, 1953, in Lima, Peru, to the late Jorge Teran and Rosa Virginia Mac Kee. She retired from Aflac as a claims specialist. Maria was a proud parent and grandparent known as Mimi. She had a kind and compassionate soul that would help anyone at any moment. She was passionate about cooking, health, and fitness, with a devotion to running. She had an intense love for her family, and nothing made her happier than spending time with them, sharing stories, laughing, and making memories.

She is survived by her daughters, Ana Davidson and Frances Edwards -Son-in-law Jeremiah Edwards, and her favorite child, Michael Stokes. Her brothers, Coqui Valencia, Willy Teran, and Tito Teran. Grandchildren include Alexis Jordan, Christian Truitt, Ryan Edwards, Eva Edwards, and Gabriel Stokes. Also, she is survived by sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins near and far, whom she loved dearly.
