Maria Loreto Gonzales

Maria Loreto Gonzales (Rodriguez), 75, of Findlay, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020 under the care of Columbus Hospice of Georgia & Alabama at the home of her brother, Dr. Antonio Rodriguez, in Columbus, Georgia.
Maria was born in Tabuelan, Cebu, Philippines to the late Teopisto and Maria Loreto Rodriguez. She married the love of her life Dr.
Bienvenido L. Gonzales on May 3, 1969 in Cebu, Philippines who preceded her in death on October 18, 2019. Surviving are her
children: Maria (Stephen) Gonzales-Jackson of Laurel, Maryland; Tina
(Patrick) Weaver of Findlay, Ohio; Sonny Gonzales of Columbus, Ohio; and Rebecca Gonzales of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren:
Lindsay and Nicholas Weaver, Mia and Noelle Gonzales-Jackson;
brothers: Dr. Antonio (Belma) Rodriguez and Dr. Jose (Annie) Rodriguez; sisters: Eva Rodriguez, and Ave Worthington; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Maria graduated as a registered nurse from Cebu Velez General Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. She immigrated to the United States with her late husband who practiced medicine in Ohio. She served as the office manager for his private internal medicine practice in North Baltimore, Ohio. Maria was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Findlay, Ohio. She was an avid reader, a lover of music, a foodie, and a proud Democrat. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Maria had a big heart and shared her love, laughter, and feisty spirit with everyone she met.
A private memorial service will be held in Maria's honor with inurnment in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Carey, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be gifted in Maria's honor to Findlay-Hancock County Public Library or the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library Fund.
