Marguerite Esther Turner, 103, of Pell City, AL, formerly of Columbus, GA, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Meadowview Nursing Center, Pell City, AL.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2013, at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Cindy Cox Garrard officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Turner was born February 26, 1910, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, daughter of the late William Hahn and Lulu Luepke Hahn. She retired after 23 years as secretary of the Bookmobile for the Muscogee County School District. She was a member of St. Luke UMC and taught Children's Sunday School for 45 years. Mrs. Turner was a member of P.E.O., Chapter Al.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Turner Dorer and son-in-law George of Odenville, AL; son, Lee Turner and daughter-in-law, Paula of Vero Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren: Mary Turner Meloy (William), James Turner (Aurora), Sandra Turner Saldana (Jason), Matthew Dorer (Tish), Kate Dorer Killingsworth (David); 4 great-grandchildren: Colin Meloy, Shannon Meloy, Marguerite Ann Killingsworth, Brooke Dorer, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Marguerite Turner may be made to the P.E.O. STAR Scholarship and mailed to Margot Dudewicz, P.E.O., Chapter Al, 1533 Tom Buk Tu Lane, Columbus, GA 31904.
