Margaret “Maureen” McKenna, 84, of Columbus Georgia died Thursday, October 13, 2022 at St. Francis hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Holy Family Catholic Church with a private interment at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. A Rosary will be said Friday, October 21, 2022 at 5:00 PM with visitation to follow until 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. 31907.
Maureen was born June 24, 1938 in Manhattan, NY, daughter of the late Daniel A. Ryan and Anne Rooney Ryan. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, was a homemaker, loved to cook, joke and keep people laughing. She was preceded in death by her husband, LTC Ret. Robert J. McKenna, son, Daniel McKenna and CPT Patrick M. McKenna.
Survivors include her children, James “Jim” McKenna (Normandy) of Columbus, GA, Robert “Rob” McKenna of Midland, GA, Thomas “Tom” McKenna (Ashley) of Columbus, GA, COL Ret. Susan Rocha (LTC Ret. Bobby) of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren, Craig, Christopher, Amanda, Patrick, Kiley, Robert, Taylor, Ian, Margaret, Katherine, two great- grandchildren, Ryleigh and Ryan.
Flowers will be acceptable but those so desiring may make contributions to the CPT Patrick M. McKenna Scholarship of The Citadel in Charleston, SC or St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org
