Margaret Barton Boyd, 88, of Waverly Hall, GA died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. David Helms officiating. Interment will be held 1:00 PM EST Wednesday at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boyd was born February 15, 1930 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late John Henry Barton and Mable Brookins Barton. She was a homemaker and was a longtime active member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Mrs. Boyd was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Alfred Boyd of Waverly Hall, GA, children, Terry Boyd (Sherry) of Atlanta, GA, Roger Boyd (Becky) of LaGrange, GA, Karen Hershman of Waverly Hall, GA and Robin Boyd (Linda) of Waverly Hall, GA, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tim Hershman.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Bethesda Baptist Building Fund 3830 GA-85 Ellerslie, GA 31807.
