Margaret Price Beckwith went to sing in the heavenly choir on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Columbus Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Danna Gibson and Rev. Norman Drummond officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on November 17, 1925 in Smithfield, PA to the late Charles H. and Mary Eliza Price. She married the late Walter W. Beckwith on June 24, 1946 at her parent's home in Pennsylvania. She worked many years in manufacturing in the Columbus area - she worked at the Archer Hosiery Mill and retired from Bibb Manufacturing after working there for over 40 years. She was a member of Victory Heights Baptist Church where she served as Church Clerk and Sunday School Teacher of the Senior Adult Ladies. She loved her church family dearly.
Other than her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Reese Henry Price, David Lloyd Price and Carl Nelson Price, her sisters, Eleanor Leona Pallendino and Patricia Ann Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Hurst (Ed) of Greensburg, PA, Bruce Beckwith of Fortson, GA and Mary Elizabeth Highnote (Mike) of Cataula, GA, sister, Ruth Sutton of Smithfield, PA, four grandchildren, Shane Beckwith (Nicole), Chance Beckwith (Melissa), Hillary Evans (Matt) and John Highnote (Emily), six great grandchildren, Colby, Bryce, Ethan, Carley, Ashton and Trenton, two special nieces, Glenda Trawick and Edith Cornell, and many other nieces and nephews. She was blessed with many special friends in her life.

A special thank you to the staff at the Gardens at Calvary - you all have cared for her this past year with great compassion and love and the family greatly appreciates you all for that. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Columbus Hospice for the love and kindness you showed during the last week of her life. Both establishments are blessed to have such good caring employees.
