Brunhilde Frieda "Mamie" Bamberger Chrismond, 83, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Chrismond was born January 13, 1934 in Kassel, Germany, daughter of the late Josef Rapp and Helga Bamberger. She was Jewish by Faith and was a Holocaust Survivor and lecturer, was a member of Temple Israel, an advisor for the Temple Youth Group, a member of the National Conference of Christians and Jews and was a volunteer at Open Door Community House. Mrs. Chrismond was the Assistant Director of the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home, Executive Director for more than 20 years of Columbus Day Care, Inc and was named the Georgia Child Care Council's 1999 Georgia Child Care Professional of the Year.

Survivors include her children, Rosita Stolfi (John) of Kailua, HI, Helga Jeanette Purnell (Michael) of Fredericksburg, VA, Shirley A. Chrismond of Kailua, HI and Mona I. Chrismond of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Jon Benjamin Chrismond of Columbus, GA, Heather Purnell Altinoren (Ilhami) of San Diego, CA, Aaron Purnell of Virginia, Jonathan Stolfi (Noosha) of Honolulu, HI, Daniela Stolfi Tow (Brian) of Kaulua, HI and Sara Gomez of Belvidere, IL and great-grandchildren, Liam Stolfi, Alexis Gomez, Ishmael Gomez.
