Madge Colvin Bray, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. George Haugen officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Madge was born May 27, 1932 in Albertville, Alabama daughter of the late Claude Leslie Colvin and Cressie Tidmore Colvin. She moved to Columbus as a child, attended Columbus Schools and graduated from Jordan High School. She served her country in the U.S. Air Force at Hamilton Air Force Base in California, and afterwards in the Air Force Reserves. She returned to Columbus after her active duty and married J.C. Bray at Edgewood Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, enjoyed travel, her grandchildren, and the family weekend retreat in the country near Talbotton, Georgia.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, C.L. Colvin, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, J.C. Bray, sisters, Paula Murphy (Bob) and Wandeen Davis (Gene), sons, John Bray (Becky) and William Bray (Camika), five grandchildren, Carey Bray, Anna Bray, Preston Bray, Miranda Bray and Maxwell Bray, and special friends, Janet Davis and Jimbo Davis.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to the Staff at Gentiva Hospice for their attentive and compassionate care.
