Madeline Alford, 94, of Stockbridge, GA died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Emory Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Little officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Alford was born February 18, 1917 in Marion County, GA daughter of the late Ernest True Melton and Pearl Faircloth Melton. She was a homemaker, was a former member of Sanctified Church on Miller Rd., and a member of Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough, GA.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Alford, Sr. and her daughter, Annie P. Sawyer.
Survivors include her sons, Cecil E. Alford (Shirley) of Atlanta, GA and Paul B. Alford, Jr. (Jane) of Atlanta, GA, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
