Lynn Chapman Spence, 84, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House.
A private graveside will be held at Riverdale cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Lynn was born August 18, 1938 in Thomasville, GA to the late William Thomas and Catharine Chapman. She grew up in Manchester, GA and graduated from Manchester High School in 1956. She moved to Columbus, GA, married James R. Spence and moved to New York City. They traveled worldwide through his position with ABC Sports. Her thoughts of home and family let her know, her heart belonged to The Masters and Kentucky Derby. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, William W. “Bill” Chapman.
She is survived by her sister, Gail Chapman Galloway, brother, George Thomas Chapman (Sue), many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
