Lyndall Evans, 87, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Vista Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 17, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bud Passmore officiating. A private burial will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Evans was born June 11, 1922 in Houston Co., AL daughter of the late Jay and Pearl Knight Hollis. She was retired from K-Mart Corporation and a member of Concord Baptist Church in Salem, AL.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Evans, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra O'Shields (Kenneth) of Midland, GA and Marsha Patterson (Frank) of Jacksonville, FL, son, John Robert Evans, III of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters, Grace Galimore (Leo) of Enterprise, AL and Reba East of Phenix City, AL, and grandchildren, Andrew and Dahlia O'Shields of Columbus, GA, Amanda O'Shields and her fiance, Jon Holland of Phenix City, AL, Tina and Tim Hooks of Jacksonville, FL and Frank III and Suzanne Patterson of Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Concord Baptist Church 321 CR-251 Salem, AL 36874.
