Luther Phillips, Jr 78 of Columbus, GA died Wednesday September 22,2021 at the Columbus Hospice House.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 27, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with his nephew the Reverend Jeff Parmer officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd Columbus, GA 31907.

Luther was born March 14,1943 in Marion County, GA, to the late Luther Phillips, Jr and Martha Lizzie Anthony Phillips. He retired from the City of Columbus after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Rose Hill Masonic Lodge.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years Martha Carolyn Weaver Phillips, his second wife Mary Ann Parham Phillips and numerous siblings.

He is survived by his children: Kevin Phillips (Vivian Tina), Karen Phillips Mathis (Jimmy Ray), Lisa C. Little, all of Columbus, GA. And Christie Armstrong (Steven, Sr) of Ellerslie, GA.Grandchildren; Ross Phillips, Tiffany Macon (Brandon), Kurt Russell, Bradley Little, Lindsey Little Rose (Jamie), Haley M. Rodgers (Dillon), Mikah Mathis (Bailey), Phillip Mathis, Jacob Mathis, Steven Armstrong, Jr, Shay Armstrong. Great Grandchildren; James, Cora, Caelyn, Payton Grace, Kinsley, Emma, Mackinley, Brody And expected great granddaughter Layla Grace. He is also survived by brothers J.W. Phillips of Fortson, GA., Bobby Phillips (Diane) of Cataula, GA., sisters Doris Moore and Nellie  Howard both of Columbus, GA.; numerous nieces and nephews; two bonus daughters, Pamela F. Mathis of Columbus and Mildred "Millie" Stephens Standridge of Columbus, GA

The family would like to thank the staff at Columbus Hospice House for the care and kindness they extended to Mr. Phillips and the family during his stay.
