Lucy Charlotte Hobbs, 88 of Midland, GA passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 22, 2012 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Rev. Dan MacMinn officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Hobbs was born February 18, 1924 in Verviers, Belgium. She was the daughter of Gaspard Lejeune and Marie Catherine Lejeune. She was a homemaker and devoted mother. She was very active in the South Columbus Senior Citizens Center and the Gallops Senior Center participating in bowling, sewing and painting. Mrs. Hobbs also enjoyed knitting for her family and friends, cooking, playing computer games and the outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband Comer Hobbs and beloved sister, Odette Lejeune.
Survivors include her sons, Joel Hobbs (Linda) of Clermont, GA, Gordon Hobbs (Julie) of Columbus, GA; daughters, Carol Walker (Chuck) of Fortson, GA and Evelyn Crenshaw (Randall) of Midland, GA; brother, Henri Lejeune of Belgium; sister, Suzanne of Belgium; grandchildren, Kerry Nahas (Charles), Adam Hobbs (Sandy), Chuck Walker, Chelsea Walker, Andrew Perez (Stephanie), Christina Owens (Eric), James Crenshaw (Erica), Emily Crenshaw and Katie Crenshaw; great grandchild, Sidney Crenshaw and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Columbus Hospice House, St. Francis Hospital 3 North and devoted friend, Rebecca Rowland for the loving care showed to their mother.
