She was born in Greenville, SC in 1943 to the late Horace and Lucy Lee. She has been reunited with the love of her life, her husband: William Boyd Alexander who passed away in 2012.
Carol was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville as a young woman where she trusted Christ as her personal Savior. She attended Bob Jones University, and after she and Boyd were married by Dr. Harold Sightler and moved back to Boyd’s home of Fortson, GA she joined Piney Grove Baptist Church and later Maranatha Baptist and Grace Baptist Church where she taught 2nd grade at Grace Christian School for 25 years. She earned a master’s degree, many professional certifications, and the respect of her peers, but her greatest legacy is the impact she had on so many children. From the hundreds she taught in class to all those she influenced in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and most of all, her son and grandchildren.
She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully and when she moved to Blairsville and joined Faith Baptist Church, pastored by her son Emory, she was active in the choir as long as she was able. She was always encouraging and hopeful about the future of the church. After developing dementia, she moved into Stonehenge where she made many new friends. She would want you to know that you too can have and eternal home if you will repent of your sins and ask forgiveness through the blood of Jesus.
She is survived by her Brother John Lee, (Brenda,) her son Emory Alexander, (Rachael,) grandson Hunter Alexander, (Miranda,) granddaughter Dixie Alexander, several cousins, nieces, and nephews and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the BEAMS Bible distribution ministry through Faith Baptist Church. Checks may be sent to PO Box 790 Blairsville, GA 30514. Thank you.
