Lucille N. Rhodes, 86, of Orlando, FL died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Health Central Hospital in Ococee, FL.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday, January 31, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus with Rev. Ken Savage officating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 till 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rhodes was born April 23, 1924 in West Union, South Carolina, daughter of the late Ben Tillman Norris and Irene Cox Norris. She was a homemaker.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas L. Newell and Harry Rhodes, her son, John L. Newell and her brother, Clarence Norris.
Survivors include her two sons, Larry T. Newell (Anne) of Orlando, FL and Richard S. Newell (Debbra) of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Carrie Neal of West Minster, S.C., Frances Wald (Milford) of Walhalla, S.C. and Etrulia "Trudy" Moran of Phenix City, AL; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
