Lucille Mae Behnke, 78, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Canterbury Rehabilitation in Phenix City, AL.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 16, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1953 Torch Hill Rd., Columbus, GA 31903 with Father Nick Mansell officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. A rosary will be said 5:00 PM Thursday with visitation from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Lucille was born August 20, 1939 in Honokaa, Hawaii; daughter of the late John DeLima and Alexandrina DeMattos DeLima. She formerly worked at Sun Ray Cleaners and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Ms. Behnke collected cook books and recipes and will be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Redding and brother, William DeLima.
Survivors include her son, Gordon Behnke (Belinda) of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Danny Redding of Columbus, GA, Pamela Behnke of Columbus, GA and Melissa Armstrong (Jacob) of Shiloh, GA, siblings, Joan Guillot (Roy) of Louisiana and John DeLima, Jr. of Hawaii, 2 great grandchildren, among other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
