LTC (Ret) William “Bill” Raymond Lee, Jr., 62, of Columbus Georgia, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at his residence.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907. For those unable to attend the service it will be LIVE STREAMED at www.mcmullenfuneralhome.com. Interment will be announced at a later date.

Bill was born June 22, 1960 in Honolulu, HI (Tripler Army Medical Center) to William Raymond Lee and the late Jane Victory Lee. He graduated from Carlisle High School, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.  After graduation, he received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, Infantry Branch. His tour of duty included Command and Staff assignments in Germany, and Iraq, as well as numerous locations within the United States.  He retired from military service with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. As a civilian Bill served as a Policy and Doctrine Writer for the Department of the Army.

Bill had an outgoing, friendly personality and was involved in community activities.  He served as a volunteer at the River Center for the Performing Arts where his presence will truly be missed.  He was an avid fan of the NFL team, the Washington Commanders and a collector and connoisseur of fine wines.

Bill is survived by his father, William R. Lee of Melbourne, FL; brother, David Lee (Ae Young) of Bowie Maryland, nieces, Grace Lee, Joyce Lee and Yurice Lee,aunt, Willa Willis of Merritt Island, Florida; aunt, Norma Johnson of Cortlandt Manor, New York; uncle, Maurice (Hermine) Lee of Conway, Arkansas, and a host of dear cousins and friends.

Other than his mother he was preceded in death by his sister Janet R. Lee.
