LTC (Ret.) Michael Joseph Kaido, Sr. 92 formerly of Columbus, GA died Saturday, October 28, 2023 in Canton, GA.
A celebration of life will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Entombment will be held at a later date at Fort Moore Main Post Cemetery.
Michael was born January 17, 1931, in Albany, NY to the late Michael Kaido and Josephine Rainwater Kaido. He was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church and Kiwanis Club of Greater Columbus. He retired from the US Army after a distinguished 22 year career in the Explosive Ordinance Disposal. After retiring, he worked as a Vice President of Compliance at AFLAC for 15 years.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lawlor Kaido and a sister, Bette Ann Prindle. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Kimbell (Julian), sons: Michael J. Kaido, Jr. (Mary), and Thomas J. Kaido (Amy), brother-in-law, Arnold V. Prindle, grandchildren, Vanessa K. Potts (Keven), Michael J. Kaido, III (Sarah), Mary T. Cochrane (Jerome), Jeremiah F. Kimbell (Isabelle Carter), Julianna K. Ruane (Scott), Martin C. Kaido (Laura), Susanna E. Kimbell, Rachel A. Kimbell, great-grandchildren, Rod Shirazi, Logan D. Potts, Madalyn G. Potts, Ansley R. Potts, Abigail G. Ruane, Joseph R. Kaido, Lillian S. Ruane, Liam Carter, Luke J. Ruane, Marlee M. Kaido, Ben J. Carter, Murphy C. Kaido and Leah C. Carter. Caregiver: Sonia Echevarria.
