We gather today to celebrate the life of Loxi Camille Shotton Gleason, affectionately known as Camille, who passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 29, 2024, in Seale, Alabama.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, January 6, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Loxi was born on July 27, 1945, in Columbus, Georgia, Camille's journey was marked by her loving spirit, her faith-filled heart, and her selfless nature. Camille's early years in Columbus set the stage for a life full of love and dedication.

She was the beloved daughter of Olies and William Shotton. Camille's journey led her to a loving marriage with her late husband, K Gleason, and together they raised a family that included their late son Bryan Gleason, with his wife Angie, their daughter Heather McKenzie, with her husband Michael, their son Scott Gleason, with his wife Sonja, and three other children who she loved and raised as her own—Pennie, Jackie, and Gina.

Her legacy is further carried on by her cherished grandchildren—Kendall, Kelsey, Blade, Dakota, RJ, Samantha, Tabitha, Bonnie, Ashley, Amber, Courtney, Amy, Brandon, and Jessica—and her twenty-seven great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life.

Camille's commitment to education led her to earn an Associate's degree in Business Management, a testament to her belief in the power of learning and personal growth. Her professional life was marked by a successful career at Flowers Bakery, where she worked until her well-deserved retirement in 2008.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Camille's interests were diverse and rich. She had an unwavering love for anything related to the comic strip character Garfield. Her love of music included Elvis and Conway Twitty. A voracious reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books, and her love for playing card games was more than just a pastime—it was a way to connect, laugh, and create memories with family and friends.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Camille will recall her as a woman of great faith. Her spirituality was a cornerstone of her existence, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her life's challenges and joys. Camille's selfless nature was evident in every aspect of her life, from the way she raised her children and grandchildren to the manner in which she approached her friendships and community involvement.
