Born in Baltimore, Maryland June 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lorretta (Giles) Battee. Lorretta fell in love and married at the age of seventeen, when her life as a military spouse began. She traveled, when possible, while her husband completed tours and would volunteer her time to local Catholic churches. During the Vietnam and Korean conflicts, she stayed behind to raise her new family, staying faithful that her husband return. After 23 years of service, the family settled down at Ft. Benning, Georgia where they joined St. Anne Catholic Church, volunteering their time most especially to the courtyard at the parish rectory. Her greatest love was her family. She adored her grandchildren especially her first great grandchild, Blaire. She and her husband were involved in a program at Ft. Benning where they welcomed officers from all over the world, into their home, many of which became part of her family. To many she was known as grandma and to most she was known as Mee Maw. Her unconditional love for others and for her catholic faith will be missed.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Mustacchio was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, SFC Rt. John W. Mustacchio.

Survivors include her children, Maria Mustacchio, Shawn Mustacchio, Angela M. Chandler (Ron), and Theresa M. Dodds (Ben). Grandchildren include Amanda M. Odom (Austin), Taylor W. Dodds (Anna), Elizabeth "Grace" Dodds and great granddaughter, Blaire Elizabeth Dodds.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the St. Anne Catholic Church Community Outreach Program 1820 Box Road Columbus, Georgia 31907.
