Loretta "Kay" (Curenton) Mason

Loretta “Kay” Mason, 70, of Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 8, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Pat Burns officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private burial will be held at Main Post Ft. Benning Cemetery. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, face coverings and social distancing will be required during the funeral service and visitation.

Kay was born October 24, 1950 in Columbus, GA to the late Clarence Hubert “CH” Curenton and Joyce Wadkins Bell. She worked for Columbus Urologists (Edwards, Sullivan and Rice), Curenton Realty, Fieldcrest Mills, Civil Service and at Aflac for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church, and she loved to travel - especially her girl trips. She volunteered at Eagle Ridge Elementary School, member of Columbus Jaycettes, Miss Georgia pageants, dance instructor at Gayle Humphrey’s studio, Junior League Attic Sale and the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Leonard Keith Mason, Jr. of Columbus, GA, sons, Larry Lee Mason (Sandra), William Brett Daniel (Sandra), William Brent Daniel, Matthew Ryan Mason (Somer) all of Columbus, GA sisters, Sharon Cook ofMidland, GA, Sue Petty of Columbus, GA, grandchildren Hollie Hutto (Bruce), Ashlea Loveland (Brad), Mady Daniel, Conner Daniel, Emily Murphy (Kori), Kendall Blanchard (Allen), Dusty Sutton Luke Mason, Olivia Mason, great- grandchildren Grayson, Logan, Lyla, Karter, Kam, Kooper, Brody, several nieces, nephews and other family members.
