Lorene B (Beckwith) Palmer

Lorene B. Palmer, 93, of Columbus, GA died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Columbus Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Christopher DuBose officiating.  The family will receive friends after the services until 7 PM at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, GA..

Lorene was born November 1, 1927 in Grady County, GA to the late Jonah and Sally Nesmith Beckwith. She loved to go shopping, travel and sew. She enjoyed going to the gym and went until she was 89 years old. She loved her family and spending time with them. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lee Palmer, daughter, Paula C. Palmer, sister, MaeDee Oates, brothers, Hulon Beckwith, Edward Beckwith, J. D. Beckwith  and sister, Oralee Fairchild .

She is survived by her daughter Karen Boyd (Clint) of Columbus, GA, son, Eric Carl Palmer (Angel) of Midland, GA, brother, Irvin Beckwith (Jan) of Pelham, GA, sister, Opal Jenkins of Ladonia, AL, grandchildren, Clinton Shane Boyd of Smiths Station, AL, Christopher Lee Boyd of Midland, GA, Kyle Williams (Casey) of Columbus, GA, Whitney Thomas (Scott) of Columbus, GA, Autumn Palmer of Columbus, GA, , great-grandchildren, K.J. Williams, Connor Spears and Chandler Thomas.
