Lora Brooks Gill, 84, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 22, 2012 at Schomburg Road Baptist Church 7155 Schomburg Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 with Reverend Buddy Lamb and Reverend Brandon Brooks officiating. The following will serve as active pallbearers: Dale Toddy, Ron Medlock, John Galey, Johnny Williams, Ferrel Wiley, and Robert Barr. The honorary pallbearers are the Deacon Team at the church. Interment will follow to Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Gill was born May 8, 1928 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late George L. and Brunie Chadwick Brooks. She worked as an instructor at Columbus Technical College for over 30 years. She was a charter member of Schomburg Road Baptist Church where she was in the Joy Sunday School Class and also taught preschool. She also was a member of the Salvation Army Womenâ
