Lois P. Cameron, 86, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, June 15, 2018 in Midland, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Scott Tucker and Rev. Andy Ginn officiating. Private Interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cameron was born April 4, 1932 in Jesup, GA, daughter of the late Johnnie W. Lynes, Sr. and Renna Murray Lynes. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and was a member of the X, Y, Z Club, NCO Wives Club and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and delivered meals on wheels.
She was a supportive military wife that traveled to many countries including Germany and Japan. She was an avid gardener with a large variety of beautiful flowers in her yard. She enjoyed crafting, sewing and crocheting. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert C. Cameron and brothers, Johnnie W. Lynes, Jr. and Chester Wendell Lynes.
Survivors include her children, Linda C. Englebert (Steve), Brenda C. Bowen (Kenneth "Ken") and Lisa Dryden (Robert "Bob"); grandchildren, Laura Englebert Shaw (James), Kelly Englebert English (Jeffrey), Bethany Bowen Deason (Justin), Jarrod Bowen (Sheree), Kimberly Dryden Haase (Bradley), Jeremy Dryden (Nikki), Mindy Dryden Green (Lee) and eleven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mark United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6795 Whitesville Rd. Columbus, GA 31904 or to the Open Door Community House, 2405 2nd Ave. Columbus, GA 31901 or Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
