Lois M. Anderson

Lois M. Anderson, 91, of Columbus, GA died Monday, June 22, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1232 Double Churches Road, Columbus, GA with Dr. Tom Neville officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. A private family interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born on July 6, 1923 in Utica, PA, daughter to the late Russel Shannon and Aline Cochran. In her working career, which spanned the years from 1946 to 1986, she worked for several textile mills including Bibb, Swift Spinning and eventually retiring from West Point Pepperell Mill. Having been a resident in Columbus since 1946, she was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and had a great love for children. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by two separate husbands, Edward A. Minton and Ray Anderson; both marriages lasting over thirty years each, and a granddaughter, Devon Minton.
Survivors include her children, Sandra Minton of St. Petersburg, FL, Linda Minton Shelton (Tim) of Fortson, GA, Donna Minton Hamilton (Nicky) of Morristown, TN, Edward A. Minton, Jr. (Shawn) of Columbus, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted; but, those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1232 Double Churches Road, Columbus, GA.
