Lisa Nicole Herring, 43, of Columbus, GA, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center. She succumbed to injuries sustained in an automobile accident on November 14, 2014. She was surrounded by countless loved ones at the time of her passing.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hilton Terrace Baptist Church, 2236 Warm Springs Rd., Columbus, GA with Reverend Mark Blaxton officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the church, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Born in Columbus on Sept. 28, 1971, Nicole was a free spirit who loved spending time with her four children & family, listening to live music, enjoying the beach, and driving around neighborhoods to look at Christmas lights during the holidays.
She is survived by her fiancé, James Chappel, of Columbus, GA; her four beloved children, Sarah, Hannah, Rebekah Grace and Elijah Herring, all of Valdosta, GA; her parents, Nick Simpson (Annie) of Hogansville, GA and Shelia Purser of Smiths Station, AL; her grandparents, Lillian Simpson of LaGrange, GA and Vivian Hasty (Marty) of Panama City Beach, FL; her brother, Justin Simpson (Ivy) of Social Circle, GA and her sister, Danielle Whitworth (Eric) of Columbus, GA; her stepbrother, Tony Parmer of Ontario, Canada, and her stepsister, Melanie Ganstine of Punta Gorda, FL. Nicole is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made on Nicole's behalf to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
