Lisa was born September 21, 1955 in Columbus, GA to the late Clarence Wallace Cox and Marilyn Patricia Gibson Cox. She began her career working at CB & T. After her time at the daycare, she would retire from Lee County School District where she was a dedicated bus driver. She will be remembered by all of the children she encountered for her kindness, love, and cheerful personality. Lisa loved the beach. She could spend hours just listening to the ocean waves crashing on the sand. She loved all kinds of music. Some of her favorites were Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, Jelly Roll, Luke Bryan, just to name a few. She was a dedicated Auburn fan and always watched the games. Lisa had many friends and they all loved her dearly. She will be remembered by her laugh, big hugs, and “I Love You More’s”.

Other than her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelley Underwood. Survivors include her daughter, Ashley Payne (Willie) of Port St. Joe, FL; son, Trevor Elliott (Amanda) of Salem, AL; sister, Stacey Cox (Todd) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Lex Payne, Jagger Payne, Brayden, and Rylee; nephews, Tristan Cox, Alex Moore, and Evan Moore; Uncle Bill and Aunt Judy Tucker; Aunt Kay Hutson and Aunt Ann Jones.
