Linda L. Owens, 66, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend David Dollar officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Owens was born September 7, 1946 in Elba, AL daughter of the late Roy and Essie Mack Scarbrough. She retired after 32 years as the Bookkeeper for Ebco Battery and later worked for 13 years as a bus driver for the Muscogee County School District. She was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, David Owens of Columbus, GA, cousin, Janie McCarty (Arnold) of Columbus, GA, devoted friend, Carol Austin (Pete) of Midland, GA, and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to St. James Freewill Baptist Church 2009 2nd Ave. Phenix City, AL 36867 in c/o David Dollar or to Columbus Hospice House 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 www.columbushospice.com.
