A strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of her family and friends. The family is sadden to say that Mrs. Linda Jo Norris, 72 of Shiloh, Ga. died Monday, August 08, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center after her valiant fight with stomach cancer and heart disease.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 12, 2016 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. with Rev. Ricky Lipp and Pastor Mike Foster officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Norris was born July 15, 1944 in Panama City, Fl. the baby of seven children. She was the daughter of the late Jake L. and Fannie Ross Lee. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing, love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, was shown through her constant smiling and laughter will never be forgotten.
She met her childhood sweetheart Harold F. "Pete" Norris in 1963 and married November 02, 1963 at her family home in Opp, Alabama. Married for 52 years, Harold "Pete" and Linda raised two beautiful daughters Sheri and Kimberly in Columbus, Ga. In 1993, Linda and Pete moved to Auburndale, Fl. where they lived and attended Christian Heritage Baptist Church. In 2013 Pete and Linda moved back to Columbus where Linda Possessed a true servants heart and faithfully cared for her family and friends through delicious cooking and baking from scratch.
A woman of faith and the heart of the family, Linda shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. Linda loved to be at church every time the doors where open and spend time with her family, friends and her grandchildren especially her great-grandchild Sophie.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Harold F. "Pete" Norris of Shiloh, Ga., two daughters Sheri Norris D.T. Jones and husband Timothy Mark Jones both of Columbus, Ga., Kimberly Stowe of Shiloh, Ga., grandchildren; Chelsea Kansas Lee- Anne Toole, Skylar Devin Brendon Toole, Harmony Arden Pembrooke Jones, Waverly Alexi Makayla Jones, Gable Aspen Bronson Jones, Grason Asher Bae-Lee Jones, Payten Amory Stowe, Preslie Amber Stowe, Arianne Preston Stowe-Taylor, Zoè Alease Stowe-Taylor, one great-grandchild Sophie Pemberley Toole
