Linda (Shelley) Hunter

Linda Shelley Hunter, 78, died Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Newnan, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Speer and Rev. Mickey Adams officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Linda Hunter was born December 12, 1942 in Dothan, Alabama, daughter of the late Marvin and Lessie Ray Shelley.

She was a 1960 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School and worked for 35 years in the Financial Services Department of the Muscogee County School District. Linda was a Sunday School teacher and choir member for many years at Northside Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. In her later years, she was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson, Georgia. Linda was a dedicated choir member and served in the Nursing Home Ministry for many years. Linda truly had a servant’s heart and enjoyed helping and serving others.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. (Jim) Hunter, and her brother Bill R. Shelley.

Survivors include her son, Keith Hunter (Karen) of Columbus, Georgia, daughter, Kellie Reed (Todd) of Newnan, Georgia, granddaughters, Hayden Reed, Kendall Reed, Rio Sanchez, Lindsey Barnes, and her loving Peekapoo, Annie
