Linda Rogers Foley died peacefully June 19, 2012, at Columbus Hospice, surrounded by loving family members. She suffered a massive stroke on June 11. She was 64.
Linda was born in Newport News, Va., to Army Sgt. James A. Rogers and Helen Butzin Rogers. As an Army brat she lived in several places, but had special memories of the time the family lived in France. Her family made Columbus home after her father's military retirement. He died in 1979.
Linda and her future husband, retired Ledger-Enquirer news editor Larry Foley, met as students at Baker High School in 1966 and quickly fell in love that never ended. They had almost 45 years of loving, rock-solid marriage.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, William "Billy" Rogers.
Survivors other than her mother and husband include daughter Tina Kimberly Foley, son Jeremy David Foley and his wife Cindy, and son Brian Jeffery Foley; brother James A. Rogers Jr., sisters Ruth Herman (Mike), Nansi Wildenberg (John) and Sue Ellen Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
She especially doted on beloved grandchildren Nickolas Foley and Alyssa Foley, Jeremy's children.
As she had wished, there were no funeral or services, and was cremated.
The family would like to extend thanks to her caregivers at St. Francis Hospital and Columbus Hospice.
