Linda Hubbard Coleman

Linda Hubbard Coleman, age 78 of Columbus, GA passed away on February 5, 2022 at The Oaks at Grove Park in Columbus, GA.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2022 with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Linda was born August 20, 1943, in Norfolk, VA to the late John Henderson Hubbard and Edna Baker Hubbard. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her lifelong partner John Johnson.

Linda enjoyed lake life at Lake Martin, Alabama. She loved all animals but had some very special dogs and cats throughout her lifetime. Linda also had a love of goats and enjoyed visits to Goat island on Lake Martin. She enjoyed her annual trips to Aruba with John and close friends. Linda was a teacher for 30 plus years with much of her tenure being at Allen Elementary School in Columbus, GA. After retirement, she taught at Columbus State University. She gave selflessly of her time each year collecting Christmas gifts for a local non-profit organization.

She is survived by her sister, Kay Powell of Blackstone, VA, two nieces, Ann Powell (Char Blubaugh) of Alexander City, AL and Elizabeth Powell (Mark Christmas) of Falls Church, VA. She is also survived by many friends and students who loved her just as she loved them.
