Lillie W. Jackson, 81, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Edgewood Church of Christ with Reverend James Bryant officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Jackson was born September 10, 1928 in Highland Home, AL daughter of the late Horace and Ollie Parrish Walters. She retired as a nurse and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School classes and was active in other church activities. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Jackson, Sr. and her sons, Bobby Jackson and Jeff Jackson.
Survivors include her sons, Gene Jackson, Jr. of St. Port, FL, Mike Jackson (Grace) of Fortson, GA and Billy Jackson of Columbus, GA, her brothers, Robert Walters of Grady, AL, Richard Walters (Mary) of Tallassee, AL and Henry Walters (Barbara) of Grady, AL, niece, Olivia Jackson of Fortson, GA and nephew, Jeffrey Jackson of Port St. Joe, FL.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Edgewood Church of Christ 4102 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
