Lillie "Rena" Irene Cannon

Lillie Irene Cannon, "Rena", age 77, of Smiths, Al. died Sunday, January 12, 2020. She was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late William Oscar and Coy Washam Barfield. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ira Walter Cannon, "Junior", her siblings, Betty Vickery, Thelma Solt, Glenn Barfield, Dick Barfield, Bo Barfield, and Carolyn Phillips.
To know Rena was to love Rena. She was a mother and sister to more than just her children and siblings. Rena will be most remembered for her beautiful smile, laughter, being an attentive listener and awesome cook. She retired from Bibb manufacturing but her biggest career was being a patient, loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include Greg Cannon, Peter Thornton, Jeff and Marilyn Cannon, Kevin and Lisa Cannon, Lisa and Phillip Hartzog, Jeff and Anna Cannon, Jr., Justin and Lynsey Cannon, Ashley and Jason Turnage, Kayla and Cody Walters, Clay Cannon, Callie Cannon, Parker and Emma Hinson, Carter and Parker Cannon, Cameron Walters, Zaylin Turnage, and soon to be Lillie Coy Turnage.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 16th, 2020 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in McDonough and again on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory in Columbus.
