Lillie Adell Wyatt Brooks, 82, of Fortson, GA died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, June 18, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James R. Cook officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Brooks was born October 14, 1927 in Girard, AL daughter of the late Joseph Franklin and Eva Hartley Wyatt. She retired as a treasurer for Martin Army Community Hospital and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church from its beginning in 1952 until the present.
Other than her parents, a son-in-law, David Urquhart, grandson, Charles and her brother, Joseph E. Wyatt, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Henry Brooks, whom she married on June 15, 1947 and who passed away February 4, 2010.
Survivors include her four daughters, Brenda Elliott and her husband, Pat of Columbus, GA, Susan Tharp and her husband, Dwayne of Fortson, GA, Margaret Adams and her husband, John of Sharpsburg, GA and Patty King and her husband, Jeff of Fortson, GA, eight grandchildren, Kim Gillum, Terri Tharp, Jenny Digby, Michael Urquhart, Sam Reese, Josh Elliott, Brian Urquhart and Phillip King, three great grandchildren, special family friend, Beanie Ford, her beloved dogs, Prissy and Buddy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
