Lillian J. Jones, 81, of Columbus, GA died Monday January 20, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday January 24, 2014 at Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery in Salem, AL with Reverend Larry Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5-7 Pm at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Jones was born February 21, 1932 in Columbus, GA to the late Robert James Dudgeon and Evelyn Amanda Anthony Johnson. She was a homemaker. Nannie was a red headed, green eyed feisty, flirty, sparkly lady who loved strong and said "Desires don't diminish with age". Baking, sewing, poodles, and primping were her interests. She loved giving gifts to people and taking girls in the family to her special jewelry box to play and chat. She was an accomplished singer who toured with country western singing star Kitty Wells, opening and standing in her for her under the stage name "Nita Perry". She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Calvin Jones Sr., parents and a grandchild, Frank Thomas Ray, JR.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Juanita Jones (Harold Case) of Killeen, TX and Sheila Jo Demirs (Gregg Platt) of Gainesville, Tx, son, Franklin Delano Patterson, Jr. (Marsha) of Jacksonville, FL, brother, Donald Dewey Johnson (Rae) of Columbia, SC, grandchildren, Leisa Eve Ray, Richard Mark Ray, Sharrie Dawn Dilleshaw, Larry Allen Dilleshaw, Jr., Donald Lloyd Sherman Jr., John Robert Wright II, Robert Wayne Wright Jr, Franklin Delano Patterson III, Tina Gayle Patterson, and ten great grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her.
