Lew Spruill Barrow, 65, of Fortson, GA died Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Barrow was born July 11, 1952 in Atlanta, GA, the son of Hugh Will Barrow and the late Bonnie Spruill Barrow. He was a practicing attorney in the State of Georgia for 40 years. He served as an Assistant District Attorney and the District Attorney for the Alapaha Judicial Circuit and as an Assistant and Senior Assistant District Attorney for the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit. Upon retirement, he was appointed Associate Magistrate Judge and a Superior Court Judge pro tem for Harris County, GA. Mr. Barrow was a loving husband and father. He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time at his farm in Taylor County, GA driving his tractor and riding his dirt bike. He collected archaeological artifacts and electric trains. Mr. Barrow also loved his Brittany Spaniels.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Juanita Carter Barrow of Fortson, GA, sons, James Lewis Barrow "Jamie" of Columbus, GA and William Charles "Billy" Barrow (Clara) of Jackson, TN, father, Hugh Will Barrow "Bill" of Carrollton, GA, brother, Hugh Will Barrow, II (Susan) of Spartanburg, SC, sister, Ann Barrow Doyle (John) of Smyrna, GA, grandchildren, Violet Bonnie and Gwyneth Clara "Winnie" both of Jackson, TN, nephew, Hugh Will Barrow, III "Trey" (Elyse) of Louisville, KY, and niece, Lori Barrow Fulmer (Ron) of San Francisco, CA.
