Ret. Lt. Col. Lester Rule Kerfoot, Jr., 83, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his residence.
Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ret. Lt. Col. Kerfoot was born September 7, 1929 in Oakland, CA son of the late Lester Rule Kerfoot, Sr. and Lula Etta Sheffer Kerfoot. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 ½ years as a Lieutenant Colonel having served in the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict. He worked later as an Aviation Accident Investigator.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carole Jean Kerfoot of Phenix City, AL, children, Patrick J. Kerfoot of Washington, D.C., Thomas D. Kerfoot of Daleville, AL, Catherine A. Segalini (Michael) of Daleville, AL, Christopher J. Kerfoot (Karen) of Enterprise, AL, D. Sean Kerfoot of Phenix City, AL, Kathleen M. Kerfoot of Columbus, GA and Michael C. Eyler of Phenix City, AL, 21 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
