Leona E. Ratliff, 78, of Midland, GA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 11, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church 6065 Morningside Dr. Columbus, GA 31909 with Pastor Thad Smith officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Leona was the daughter of the late Price and Alberta Swearingen. She was born July 1, 1933 in Augusta, GA. Leona Ratliff was a retired employee of Gayfers. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church for 40 years. She had tremendous love for her family and church family, and she loved gardening and Christmas time.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Baker of Thompson, GA, sister, Irene Morgan of Augusta, GA, brother, Cecil Swearingen of Augusta, GA, and a son, Billy Ratliff of Marion County, GA.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 59 years, George Ratliff of Midland, GA, daughter, Jeannie Hogland and husband, Glen of Augusta, GA, son, Jimmy Ratliff and wife, Sheila of Albany, GA, daughter, Pamela Davis and husband, Wayne of Columbus, GA, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
