Leona Mae Boushka, 88, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday January 28, 2014 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday February 15, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA, with Dr. William Boushka, Jr. officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service until 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
Ms. Boushka was born June 26, 1925 in Jersey County, IL to the late Lee Shanks and Mary Loretta Rhodes Shanks. She had a BS degree in Nursing from Columbus State University. She worked as a RN at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital for over 20 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Boushka of Columbus, GA, son, Dr. William Boushka, Jr. (Elaine) of El Paso, TX, sisters, Ann Bray of Jerseyville, IL and Muriel Lewis of Cannon Beach, OR, grandchildren, Katherine Aurora Callahan, Matthew Gregory Boushka, Michael Clark Boushka, Andrew Aaron Boushka, Hayley Alynn Boushka, Michelle Elise Boushka, Chelsea Siobhan Boushka, and Emma Ruth Boushka.
