Len V. Mckinnon
February 8, 1943 — February 25, 2021
Len V. McKinnon, 78, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, February 25, 2021 from Complications of Alzheimer’s.
The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday March 7, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 facemasks and social distancing will be required during the visitation.
Len was born February 8, 1943 in Thomasville, GA to the late Len V. and Elizabeth W. McKinnon. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Jones.
Len graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in accounting. He spent two years in Naval Reserve, eighteen months of which were spent in Vietnam. He worked for Ernst and Ernst until opening his own public accounting firm, Dougherty, McKinnon and Luby CPA, with several men from Ernst.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra McKinnon of Columbus, GA, two step-sons, Robert Gay (Angie) of Augusta , GA, John Russell Gay (Christy) of Valley, AL, brother Jack McKinnon (Pam of Tallahassee, FL, niece, Michele Kitchens (Kelly) of Tallahassee, FL, nephew, Mac McKinnon (Tarah) of Tallahassee, FL, five nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the staff at Brookside Glen and Columbus Hospice House for their excellent care and thoughtfulness shown to Len during these past years.
