A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Christ Community Church. The family will receive friends at 11:30 and invite those attending to stay for refreshments following the service according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Jay was born August 3, 1954, at Fort Benning, GA to the late Lawrence “Larry” John Hofstetter, Jr. and Gertrude “Trudy” Tegge Hofstetter. Most of his professional career was spent in beauty supply sales. Most recently he worked for Energy Savers. He was active member at Christ Community Church, The Walk to Emmaus, Mercy Med and Sound Choices, cherishing all the relationships he met through them.
Jay loved spending time with his family and friends. Jay’s quick-witted and charismatic personality drew friends from all walks of life. He cherished and valued each one. His servant’s heart led him to do various types of work for his church, his friends and his community.
He is survived by his siblings, Christine Jenkins (Evan) of Columbus, GA, Eddie Hofstetter (Cindy) of Columbus, GA, nieces, Patricia Fisher (Stewart) of Augusta, GA, Katherine Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, Lydia Hofstetter of Newport, RI, nephew, Russell Hofstetter of Atlanta, GA, great-niece and great-nephew, Katherine and George Fisher.
