Lawrence W. Shiver, 75, of Cataula, GA died Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Matthew Shiver officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Shiver was born October 27, 1942 in Brundidge, AL son of the late James Virgil Shiver and Louise Leatherwood Shiver. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was the Captain of the Correctional Officer Department with the Harris County prison. Mr. Shiver was also a member of Harris County Church of Christ.
Survivors include his loving wife, Judy D. Shiver of Cataula, GA, sons, Steve Shiver (Alana) and James C. Sneed (Valera), daughter, Teri Nansel, brother, Leonard Shiver, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
