Lawrence Crook Jr., a cherished soul known for his kindness, handiness, and courageous spirit, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones on September 13, 2024, in his hometown of Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Lawrence was born on January 7, 1951, to the late Carla and Lawrence L. Crook. Lawrence lived a full and admirable life, marked by devotion to his family and country.

Lawrence's early years in Columbus were filled with the love and support of his parents, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. He carried these lessons throughout his life, making an indelible impact on those fortunate enough to cross his path. After completing his education, Lawrence answered the call of duty and proudly served in the U.S. Army, where his bravery and commitment to his nation were evident to all.

Upon returning to civilian life, Lawrence embarked on a fruitful career in construction, specializing in sheetrock work. His hands crafted more than just buildings; they built a legacy of perseverance and excellence that would stand the test of time. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother Clara and father Lawrence, brothers, Walter and Johnny crook.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna, son, Christopher, daughter, Sherry, grandchildren, Jessica, William, Brianna, Jorden, Amanda, great-grandchildren, Gracie, Calvin, Raelynn, Colson, brother, James Crook, sisters, Linda Higgins, Diane Cuppernell and many loving friends.
