Lauren Elise Hornsby, 21, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Phenix City, AL.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1953 Torch Hill Rd. Columbus, GA 31903 with Father Brian LaBurt officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. A prayer vigil will be held 5:00 PM Friday with visitation to follow until 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Lauren was born January 28, 1991 in Columbus, GA daughter of Leslie Eugene Hornsby, Jr. and Laura Jean Charo Hornsy of Columbus, GA. She worked as a receptionist at Graphicom. She was a 2009 graduate of Columbus High School. She attended Georgia State University and she was a junior at Columbus State University. She also attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Catherine Charo and her grandfather, Leslie Eugene Hornsby, Sr.
Survivors other than her parents include her sister, Lindley Hornsby of Columbus, GA, maternal grandparents, Larry and Connie Charo of Columbus, GA, paternal grandmothers, Sandra L. Christianson of Ratford, N.C. and Donna Hornsby of Roanoke, VA, four aunts, LeeAnn Charo Dimmlich of Dalton, GA, Lisa Charo of Columbus, GA, Darla Meredith of Parkland, FL and Tonya Morris of Aberdeen, N.C.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1953 Torch Hill Rd. Columbus, GA 31903.
