Laura Barker Highnote, 78, of Cataula, GA, left her earthly home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 29, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery with Mr. Harold Woods, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00-6:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Highnote was born on March 13, 1938 to Charles J. Barker, Jr. and Margaret Johnson Barker in Phenix City, AL. She married her high school sweetheart, Harvey "Buddy" Highnote on December 23, 1956. She was a graduate of Baker High School.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey "Buddy" Highnote and her brothers, Charles J. Barker, III, Thomas R. Barker and Frank Barker.
Survivors include her children, Michael Highnote (Mary) of Cataula, GA, Cathy Beal (Robert) of Pace, FL, Mark Highnote, Gainesville, FL; sisters, Annette Etheridge (Spencer) of Griffin, GA and Polly Simpson (Steve) of Cusseta, GA; brother, David Barker of Smiths, AL; grandchildren, Bobby Beal (Rebecca), Debbie Ward (Todd), Hillary Evans (Matt), John Highnote (Emily), and Mark Highnote, Jr. and great-grandchildren, Buddy, Kylie, Ethan, Ashton, Kyndal, Wyatt, Jacob and Ida.
