Laura Lee Ogle Griggs, 76, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Vista Care Hospice at Franciscan Woods.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 at North Highland Church 7300 Whittlesey Blvd. Columbus, GA 31909 with Reverend Dennis Lacy and Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Griggs was born May 13, 1935 in Ashland, KY daughter of the late Charles Fredrick and Maggie Belle Chinn May. She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, gardening, and being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Griggs and her four brothers, Paul, Francis, Kenneth and Howard.
Survivors include her son, Fred Ogle of Columbus, GA, daughters, Angi Riley (Sonny) of Fortson, GA, Mindy Sparks of Columbus, GA, Cindy Ogle of Columbus, GA and Sandra Thompson (Dennis) of Loganville, GA, sister, Mabel Barker of Pinehurst, N.C., brother, Charles May (Carmella) of Mooresville, N.C., step-son, Keith Griggs of Fortson, GA, step-daughter, Renee Regan (Terry) of Midland, GA, 23 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to Vista Care Hospice, 2425 Williams Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
