Larry Earl Vinson, 72, of Columbus, Ga. died Wednesday January 08, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. A private Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Vinson was born September 16, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia son of the late William Earl Vinson and Betty Ann Hinson Hancock. After 40 years he retired as a Telephone Installer for AT&T, member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. Mr. Vinson was a true American Patriot. He loved his country, history, genealogy, the Civil War and was active with the Coweta Falls Chapter.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother Nettie Lou Minnick,sister Becki Matthews (deceased) Tom
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gwen Ann Haynes Vinson, sons, Robert Earl Vinson and Christopher Lee Vinson both of Columbus, Ga., sisters, Gail Vinson McCarty (Don) of Phenix City, Al. and Patti Cole Gladwell (Jack) of Greensboro, Ga., brother Billy Vinson (Linda), three grandchildren, Jonathan Brown, Brinkley Vinson and Blake Vinson.
Nieces and nephews, Jason, Alice, Katrina, Brenda, Lisa, Gina, and Michael who all adored their Uncle Larry and thought of him like a second father.
