Larry Norwood Travis died on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Marietta, GA, following a brief illness. He was 68.
Larry was born on March 12, 1950 in Cuthbert, GA, to his parents L. A. Travis and Frances Page Travis. He graduated from Hardaway High School in Columbus, GA and Columbus State University. Larry had a love of aviation, and spent his career as a commercial airline pilot. After several mergers, he retired from American Airlines.
He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed movies, sporting events, traveling, and spending time with his family and many close friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, and is survived by his mother, Frances Travis, of Columbus, GA, and his sister Page (Dave) Sobek and nephew David Sobek of Marietta, GA, and also by his many cousins.
